Upp Software Assists the State of
Tennessee's
Department of Health with Disaster Management
Client Profile:
The State of Tennessee is the 16th largest state in the nation, servicing over 6 million residents in 95 counties.
To efficiently meet the needs of such a large population, the State of Tennessee required a system to provide resource and asset management, accurate pharmaceutical and medical supply distribution, and day-to-day clinic and lab management in over 100 diverse locales. Additionally, the State required a solution to stand ready for handling receipt, apportionment and disbursement of the CDC Strategic National Stockpile. The solution framework needed to be an event-driven, centrally managed, scalable, fundamentally secure, and inherently flexible system.
Solution:
The State of Tennessee implemented IRMS Public Health Solutions including: Asset Management, Patient Management, Clinic Management and Resource Management with Emergency Management, and GOKIT Mobile Logistics Platform to follow as scheduled in Phase II under a UASI Grant. The solutions are utilized for day-to-day inventory management in public health clinics and pharmacies. The solution includes drug dispensing and laboratory management while providing immediate compliance with industry demands such as ICD-9 Coding, HIPAA and HL7.
IRMS GOKITs – deployed as scalable, interoperable and mobile enterprise solutions at over 100 remote sites – contain all the necessary components to operate within a facility or designated area, with or without communication connectivity. GOKITs enable staff, first responders, medical teams and administrators to decisively manage their respective responsibilities through accurate and real-time information. Powerful web-based reporting provides critical information for comprehensive Resource Management and seamless integration to command and control software, such as WebEOC.
The implementation effort included project management, business process analysis and process mapping, personnel and work management, leading system integration, and test plan development for systems quality assurance and 24 x 7 support.
Business Value:
The solution has allowed State of Tennessee to provide the protection and safety that its citizens demand through the leveraging of technology and industry best practices, achieving increased processing speed and accuracy, while containing costs and simplifying incident response management.
