Upp IRMS Emergency Support Teams Assist States in
Distributing CDC’s H1N1 Antiviral Medications
May 8, 2009
Downers Grove, IL – In response to the CDCs distribution of antiviral medications to counter the expanding outbreak of the H1N1 virus, Upp Technology deployed six IRMS Emergency Management Support Teams to assist various States with the receipt and distribution of the CDC shipments.
"As we became alerted to the H1N1 outbreak we had two distinct support choices for our customers," explained Carl Brewer, President of Upp Technology. 1) We could take a reactive position and support our customers from our offices. Or, 2) we could take a proactive position and deploy Emergency Support resources directly to our customers' sites."
With teams in action all across the United States, Upp’s Emergency Support personnel worked side-by-side with each State to ensure that their distribution operations ran smoothly and flawlessly. With all first phase distributions complete, Upp’s Emergency Support Teams returned to their Chicago home base with the accolades and sincere appreciation of their customers.
With State-level compliments from "One hell of a mission... one hell of an accomplishment," to "we appreciate your company’s dedication to our success," Upp’s CEO, Scott Upp, said of his team, "It is with great pride that I congratulate the entire Upp Software Team on a job well done. The soul of a first responder is within each of them, an attribute that I consider exceptional."
