In support of the company's continued growth it is necessary to manage the modernization and expansion of its global infrastructure. Solution:
Through a staff augmentation model, Upp IT consultants service the day-to-day operational needs of this client's networks. Our consultants install, configure and support the network hardware essential to the global infrastructure including: routers and switches, storage and backup systems, associated operating systems and security software. They are responsible for isolating and replacing failing network equipment, as well as troubleshooting internal and external routing problems. Relied upon to configure new network appliances with the appropriate routing and security, Upp consultants are also involved in the maintenance and upgrade of critical associated software components.
For this client, Upp personnel are crucial in the administration and monitoring of a large-scale, production environment comprised of more than 350 IBM AIX, IBM S/390 (Linux), Sun Enterprise (Solaris) and Windows servers. These servers house the company's SAP and Siebel applications, in addition to countless homegrown IBM Mainframe, Web based, and Java-developed systems. Our IT professioals also installed and administer Enterprise security systems throughout the environment, while routinely taking part in internal audits of Security Policies, and in the evaluation, selection and implementation of Host-based Intrusion Detection Systems.
